Guidance Lessons: Character Traits & Life Skills

Throughout the year, students participate in classroom guidance lessons that focus on building positive character traits and strong social-emotional skills. Lessons include:

  • Kindness 
  • Respect 
  • Responsibility
  • Gratitude 
  • Empathy 
  • Perseverance
  • Honesty
  • Cooperation 
  • Courage 

In addition to character education, students participate in counseling lessons aligned to district and state standards, including:

  • Orientation to the Counselor 
  • Mental Health & Safety 
  • Bully Prevention
  • Anti-Victimization
  • Red Ribbon Week / Drug-Free Education
  • College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR)
  • Conflict Resolution and Problem-Solving
